Building Healthier Futures Starts in Long Beach

Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Long Beach, Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) supports individuals with mental health needs — including those facing homelessness, unemployment, physical health issues, and substance use disorders — with special programs for Veterans and older youth. We provide the necessary training, tools, and resources to help our members overcome these challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Our work meets people where they are. Through street outreach and street-based medicine, housing navigation and tenancy support, employment training and placement, and integrated mental and physical healthcare, we walk alongside our members every step of the way.

Recent government funding cuts have created real gaps in our outreach and program budgets — and your gift during Long Beach Gives helps keep our continuum of care intact.

The sweetest part? Donate $50 or more and enjoy a free cookie bundle at The Village Cookie Shoppe & Cafe, our social enterprise right here in Long Beach, where our members are building healthier futures one batch at a time.

Long Beach Gives is one week, but the impact you'll make lasts a lifetime.
