We work in under-served, low-income sections of Long Beach with kids who really can use some positive art in their lives

Every bit of money goes directly to programs for the students  our cost is jsut paying the professional teaching artists - the more you donate the more children we can bring dance to :)

for $5,000 we can impact
- $5,000 means that 2 elementary schools have lunch recess access to dance for their entire student body twice a week for 10 weeks
- $5,000 means 10 classes for middle/ high school students that ends with a performance

Exposure to dance has been proved to reduce discipline problems, increase attendance and attitude, raise test scores and improve physical and mental wellness. The spatial awareness and rhythmic movement has a huge impact on cognitive development and we love to see the kids smiling and laughing as the explore dancing

BrockusED provides free dance education to LBUSD schools! We bring dance classes and after-school programs at no cost to our local public schools. Many of these students have very limited or no exposure to arts education or dance lessons. Teachers and parents agree that it is so wonderful to see the joy and feeling of accomplishment in the students we serve. Through our classes our elementary school 1st to 5th graders have a bright spot in their day filled with creativity and laughter as they explore dance.

Our high-quality dance classes are taught by the experienced and amazing dancers and company director of our professional performance company, BrockusRED. In addition to providing arts education to LA and Long Beach students, your donation creates jobs for our COVID impacted professional dance artists
BrockusED goes into schools and working with students who have very limited or no exposure to dance lessons.

BrockusRED is our professional performance and company, and the amazing dancers and the company director are also the teaching artists that work with the students.

Dance is a great way to build teamwork, improve academic success, physical fitness and decrease stress with creative expression.
BrockusED uses dance to promote academic excellence with actively applying the concepts of math, science, literature, history and biology in the dance classes. Teamwork, social interaction and life-long physical fitness are also in the curriculum being taught in dance.Studies show that dance and physical activity stimulate the brain and improve cognitive function and emotional release.

Students will develop in this dance program: body awareness, movement communication skills, elements of moving through space, connections between dance and a healthy life style, ability to express feeling and images and thought, understanding of human diversity, physical application of academic studies such as geometry and physics.
