Families Uniting Families Project Fatherhood addresses two major challenges facing Long Beach families:

1. The daily stressors that make it difficult to experience joy in parenting
2. The overrepresentation of low-income families and families of color in the child welfare and criminal justice systems

We address all of the factors that stress parents and we fight the overrepresentation of our Long Beach families through our robust system of care and advocacy. Our services include:
1. 1-on-1 weekly clinical case management sessions
2. Resource linkages with warm handoffs for housing, food, medical/ dental/ vision/ mental health care
3. Educational/ legal/ financial advocacy and planning
4. Weekly peer support groups and parent coaching
5. Job placement and employment training

Over the past 13 years, we have served over 800 fathers and mothers in Long Beach, nearly all of whom never experienced or re-experienced a child abuse, domestic violence, or criminal case after completing our program. That means over 800 families REMAIN FREE FROM CHILD ABUSE and POLICE INVOLVEMENT after completing our program.

We provide all of our services for free and for however long families need them. We significantly increase the number of families we serve every year and the services we provide keep getting better. Parents often talk about how impactful we are, calling us "the real deal."

Help us impact more parents in Long Beach by sponsoring one or more families! Your sponsorship will provide a family with 10 free clinical case management sessions and 44 free therapeutic parenting support groups! That's over 100 hours of vital services that will transform a family for the better.

Testimonials

"I found Project Fatherhood when I was going through a difficult divorce. Since then, it's been life changing for me. We just want to be happy, but there are difficult situations that happen that make things really hard, that you don't know how to fix. Thankfully this program is here to help you figure out how to be a better person, a better parent, and to be more happy. They helped me through the worst parts of my life." - J. Ochoa

"I keep coming to Project Fatherhood because I learn so much from it. I learn so much from the social workers and the other dads. It has made me a better father... and its all for free! I don't have any mandates or requirements to attend but I will always keep coming to the weekly meetings because they are just that good." - D. Mejia

"My court cases ended in 2021, but I continue to actively participate in Project Fatherhood because I am learning how to grow with my children, as they grow. We continue to have a great relationship because of this program." - C. Walker
