Over a decade ago, in 2013, Children’s Theatre of Long Beach (CTLB), founded as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and set out with a vision to serve the city’s families. Today, after ten years of unwavering dedication, we have grown to become a cornerstone of artistic excellence and community engagement in Long Beach. Our journey began in response to the growing demand for children’s theatre programs and family entertainment, and we’ve exceeded our own aspirations. we have not only achieved our goals but have become an integral part of the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
Our goal is to contribute to the growing body of theatre for youth with the commission and development of new plays that are engaging, enriching, and educational. We serve a metropolitan area rich in culture. Our productions reflect arts and education for a diverse population. We strive for CTLB to be a dynamic asset to the community and are determined to bring theatre to families from every socioeconomic and cultural background while creating strong memories for kids that will last a lifetime.
However, we often come across challenges and Long Beach Gives offers us an opportunity to fundraise to solve them. This year we're fundraising to improve the children's safety and their families' comfort with two fundraising goals.
1) Safety: $1999.92
We've been working with glass footlights at the theatre which look beautiful but get awful hot when running shows. we've never had a major accident but this year we're fundraising to make sure it never happens in the first place by buying a set of LED strip lights. which are cool to the touch even after hours of use.
2) Comfort: $4,999.00
Our bigger goal is to fundraise for a set of 4 in-ear monitors. This would help our parents or grandparents with hearing disabilities to have a direct feed of the show strait to their ears. and in the inverse if we have any cast members on stage with a hearing disability, they'll be able to hear their cast through their monitor as well.
Thank you for your interest in our mission and programs. We hope that you'll donate, if you are able, to help us continue children and families’ access to the arts.
