$10,000 Goal

"Doing the most good" for low-income youth, families, seniors, homeless individuals and veterans, in the Greater Long Beach area has been a focused goal for The Salvation Army since 1906. The Long Beach Red Shield Community Center provides programs and services to meet the needs of Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, and surrounding communities, offering a physical and spiritual haven for the most disadvantaged for over 118 years. We currently serve over 25,000 low-income and homeless men, women, and children annually. We provide Monday-Friday programming for low-income at-risk children ages 5-13 including homework and reading assistance, recreational sports, arts, and music classes between the hours of 2:30-7:00pm every day, with additional programming for High School students.  We also provide daily programming for Older Adults, including health and social classes, as well as a daily hot & healthy lunch.  Additional programming is available for adults and families.  Long Beach Red Shield is truly a place where everyone belongs!
