Hi friend- welcome to my Long Beach Change Challenge! 🎉🎉 

Long Beach Forward's community organizing and movement building work is near and dear to my heart: every 1-1, every strategy session and workshop, and every city council meeting and school board meeting bring us one step closer to our shared vision of a city where race and income doesn't determine one's future. 

Because of our deeply rooted community building and campaigns, I've seen parents, caregivers, tenants, young people, street vendors, queer folks, drag queens, city commissioners, and so many others come together across our differences to work towards housing justice, language justice, education equity, and more for Long Beach. That's why I have a personal goal of raising $2,000 by Thursday, September 19 as part of Long Beach Gives. 

We’ve built an unstoppable movement for a safe and healthy Long beach for all over the past year. Support from individual donors no matter how big or small has helped us...

🏆 Train Leaders: Equipping youth and adults with the tools they need to organize their neighborhoods, push for policy change, and serve on citywide Boards and Commissions!

🏆 Advocate for Equity: Organizing low-income BIPOC communities for equitable rules and laws on street vending, housing, tenant protections, and local democracy!

🏆 Educate and Empower People: Teaching community members urban planning to help shape city zoning in North Long Beach, along Anaheim Street, and in the Downtown!

🏆 Support Families: Coordinating parent education and empowerment workshops for over 150 families navigating special education in LBUSD and new fathers of infant children!

🏆 Build Grassroots Support: Providing equipment, meeting spaces, and interpretation for community groups working towards social change!
