Join May in Moving Long Beach Forward!

Help me support Long Beach Forward! This organization is near & dear to my heart. I joined the board because I had gotten to know LBF in its role anchoring the People's Budget Coalition to push our city to invest in housing, education, and health. Since then, I have only grown impressed and invested in LBF's steadfast courage & commitment to racial justice organizing even in the face of daunting challenges. LBF's role as a hub of racial, economic, and social justice organizing is central to forging a thriving city that we all deserve. 

Just a few examples of their work that you'll be supporting:

🏆 Supporting Families: Coordinating parent education and empowerment workshops for over 150 families navigating special education in LBUSD and new fathers of infant children!  

🏆 Training Leaders: Equipping youth and adults with the tools they need to organize their neighborhoods, push for policy change, and serve on citywide Boards and Commissions! (Including, for example, fundamentals of community organizing training) 

🏆 Grassroots Support: Providing equipment, meeting spaces, and interpretation for community groups working towards social change! Emerging grassroots mobilizing groups have found crucial resources & spaces for our events + actions from LBF.
