I dedicate my life to the preservation and presentation of Latino history because in doing so I show the dignity of my people and bring pride to who we are. How important it is to see ourselves reflected in the history of our hometown.
This year I had the opportunity of being part of a groundbreaking exhibition-Centro de La Raza: John A. Taboada Legacy Photo Collection, 1970-1985-that tells the story of the Chicano Movement in Long Beach for the very first time. Exhibitions like this are made possible because of financial contributions from community members that keep this organization going.
I am proud to be part of an organization that authentically seeks to preserve the history of diverse communities across our great city. The HSLB has been saving history since 1962 and is the premier history museum and archive of Long Beach. Keep our work going by supporting this campaign.
