Help Sylvia raise funds for SSA

When John had his initial stroke in 2011 in Colorado, I muddled through the role of caregiver.  Fortunately, John was so motivated by his desire to get back to conducting, that he took the lead in the success of his rehabilitation.  With his subsequent brain hemorrhage and our move to Long Beach, rehab and recovery was complicated by finding new resources and medical care.   When we found our new church home at California Heights United Methodist Church, we also found the Stroke Support Assoc. of Long Beach which meets at the Church.  The discovery of this wonderful organization opened new friendships with stroke survivors and caregivers who shared their stories and encouragement.  The opportunity to meet separately, with caregivers only, let me laugh and cry and grow in my love and care for John.  When John’s journey ended in 2021 this group would not let me go and became my therapy and grief group.  Now, serving as Treasurer, I would like to reach out to you for support, to keep this important work going.
